Keyboard access
Primary navigation, dialogs, filters, reading controls, forms, and interactive records are operable without a mouse.
Inclusive Reading
PromiseWorld.org is being built toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is treated as an operational requirement, not a gold plaque added after the building opens.
WCAG 2.2 AA is the current target. This statement does not claim third-party certification. Formal audit findings and remediation status will be recorded during the launch-candidate builds.
Built into the institution
Primary navigation, dialogs, filters, reading controls, forms, and interactive records are operable without a mouse.
Pages use named landmarks, one primary content target, heading hierarchy, native controls, status announcements, and descriptive link text.
Visitors can enlarge text, increase contrast, reduce motion, underline content links, and relax reading spacing. Choices remain in the browser.
The site follows the device reduced-motion setting and also offers an explicit Reduce Motion preference.
Layouts are designed to reflow at narrow widths and remain usable when browser text or page zoom is increased.
Trailer scenes include text descriptions and transcripts. Released audio must include a complete transcript before a player appears.
Fields use visible labels, programmatic names, instructions, error states, and status messages. Newsletter consent remains explicit.
Core guides have full HTML equivalents. Print styles preserve reading order and remove decorative navigation.
Keyboard record
A visible focus indicator follows keyboard navigation. Dialogs contain focus while open and return it to the control that opened them after closing.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Tab | Move to the next interactive control. |
| Shift + Tab | Move to the previous interactive control. |
| Enter or Space | Activate a focused button, link, checkbox, or disclosure. |
| Escape | Close an open dialog, mobile menu, trailer, or reading focus mode. |
| Arrow keys | Move through compatible radio groups and trailer scenes. |
Testing record
The production gate combines automated checks with manual review.
Known limits
The downloadable reading-group PDFs are supplemental. Their complete HTML equivalents are the canonical accessible versions while document tagging and assistive-technology behavior receive final production verification.
Third-party retailer, email, checkout, audio, video, and event destinations may have different accessibility behavior after leaving PromiseWorld.org.
